IID celebrates 5th anniversary promoting pluralism in public policy

More than five years ago, IID began its journey to promote evidence-informed public policy for inclusive and informed development. On 31st March 2018 IID celebrated its 5th anniversary doing exactly what its goal suggests—taking initiative to promote pluralism in public policy.

The celebration began with IID’s flagship program ‘Policy Breakfast’ focusing on disability-inclusive development. The event ended with the Prime Minister’s Principle Secretary promising policy initiatives taking into account the suggestions made by the participants. More on that event here.

Later in the afternoon, IID arranged a roundtable discussion in partnership with the daily Prothom Alo on preventing gender violence for achieving gender equity. Highlight of the discussion here.

A festive celebration followed the morning event with a reunion of past and current IID staffs. Apart from traditional cake cutting ceremony, the staffs developed an illustration of their vision for IID’s next 10 years.

The celebration continued as the board members Asif Saleh, Rafiqul Islam Rowly, Sara Hossain, Samia Huq and Syeed Ahamed observed the anniversary with a cake at the end of the board meeting held on 2nd April, 2018. See details here.

The team concluded the festive celebration with an informal gathering at the IID office recollecting the journey of past years, and vowed to use the lessons to promote evidence and pluralism in public policy.
