During November 2011 and July 2012, IID assisted Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) for the SASEC Information Highway Project to formulate and implement ICT related national strategies and to develop human resources for effective use of ICT. The project aimed to improve Information and Communication Technology (ICT) connectivity between the four countries (Bangladesh, Bhutan, India and Nepal) and provide modern, affordable, and reliable broadband information, communication, and knowledge services within and across borders to universities, businesses, and expand ICT accessibility in remote rural areas.
