IID attending workshop on ensuring data quality

IID is attending international course workshop on ‘Data, Statistics and Methods’ hosted by ‘Pratham Education Foundation’ in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India between January 30, 2017 and February 3, 2017.

Pratham is the largest nongovernmental organization working to provide quality education to the underprivileged children of India. ASER Centre, facilitates the Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) a rapid household based assessment of children’s ability to read simple text and do basic arithmetic. ASER produces the only annual estimates of children’s learning that are available India today.

ASER Centre is also one of the founding members of the People’s Action for Learning Network (PAL Network). PAL Network is an internationally recognizes south-south collaboration whose nine member countries work across three continents to assess the basic reading and numeracy competencies of over 1 million children annually, in their homes through citizen-led assessment. IID is also a partner of PAL Network.

During the workshop, participants will learn about the principles and process of ‘Data, Statistics and Methods’ employed in carrying out the educational survey.
