Head of IID becomes the steering group member of UNESCO’s global education platform

Syeed Ahamed, CEO of IID, has been nominated to be a member of the steering group at Network on Education Quality Monitoring in the Asia-Pacific (NEQMAP).

NEQMAP, established in 2013 in Thailand, is a platform for exchange of knowledge, experience and expertise on the monitoring of educational quality in countries and jurisdictions of the Asia-Pacific region. The network focuses on student learning assessment as a key tool for monitoring education quality, while acknowledging the importance of maintaining strong linkages with other enablers of learning in classrooms including curriculum and pedagogy.

 

In a steering group meeting, held on 13th May 2020, NEQMAP invited Mr. Ahamed along with Dr. Xiaoting Huang. In the meeting the CEO explained how IID creates an impact in the education sector through nationwide assessment, policy advocacy and partnership with other global education bodies like People’s Action for Learning (PAL) Network and ASER.

The virtual meeting also hosted Dr. Michelle Belisle, Dr. Ho Sui Chu Esther, Dr. Nordin Abd Razak, Ursula Schwantn Phenwilai, Mark Manns from NEQMAP and the unit Chief of Inclusive Quality Education, UNESCO, Maki Hayashikawa.
