EDGE programme building more confidence among adolescent girls

More than 50% of the beneficiaries of English and Digital for Girls’ Education (EDGE) programme are being highly confident of making people aware about gender quality reveals from midline study on EDGE conducted by IID in December 2018. This study was to measure the progress of digital, social and 21st century skills of the EDGE beneficiaries as a result EDGEintervention. British Council initiated this project to improve the life prospects of marginalized adolocsent girls.

The midline study was a Randomized controlled trial (RCT). Total 255 adolescent girls of BRAC’s Kishori Club were surveyed in this study where 55 percent were from beneficiaries of EDGEprogram others are not. The study was conducted in three districts of Bangladesh: Tangail, Mymensingh and Narsingdi. In 2016 IID conducted a baseline study in these same areas. IID also done an impact and case study which include stories and photos of EDGE beneficiaries who have had positive changes in their lives through the EDGE project.
