IID gets internationally recognized for ‘Bibhui’

IID’s Bibhui app has won the mBillionth Award South Asia for the year 2018 for providing feasible solutions to migration related problems. The mBillionth Award is presented for socially valuable innovations in mobile communications.

The award scheme is run by the Digital Empowerment Foundation India, with the United Nations World Summit Awards as the international partner, and the Facebook as the knowledge partner. Shams Jarin received the award on behalf of IID at the award ceremony held in New Delhi on 3rd October, 2018.

Bibhui won the award under the category for early stage projects.

The quality of the app and its reception among the target group in a relatively very short span of time contributed to the award. The app has been downloaded by more than 21,000+ aspirant migrants along with overseas migrant workers and promotion of the app among the aspirant migrants is ongoing through the young volunteer network.
