Benoit-Pierre Laramée, High Commissioner of Canada in Bangladesh, said after the Policy Breakfast on National Data Security, “People are concerned about the collection, use, storage, and disclosure of personal data. These are very normal concerns about the system, people need to have confidence and trust in the system. It’s not only about the infrastructure and technology for protection, but also about law enforcement and legal protection.” He noted the dialogue allowed these concerns to be raised and addressed and some answers were already provided at the event itself.
