Dr. Rokonuzzaman, Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at North South University attended our Policy Breakfast on National Data Security where he stressed that biometric technology is now used in many countries to identify individuals and that it’s not a bad thing; rather, he said, more attention needs to be paid to the other layers of data security besides technological measures like firewalls – and these are proper execution, supervision, regulatory and legal provisions, and law enforcement. He said the government has ensured the right technology but the other four layers have not been properly covered.
