Former Mayoral candidate for Dhaka City Corporation (North) Tabith Awal participated in our 8th Policy Breakfast on National Data Security. He raised concerns about enforcement and due process in the event of a privacy breach or misuse of personal data. He said, “Due to recent events involving data hacking, embezzlement and such, citizens are concerned and citizens want assurance. Therefore, as citizens, we want to know, how much is this data protected, and if something goes wrong, what is the due process? Where do we go to have our grievances addressed? How are we going to hold the perpetrators accountable?”
