IID conducted a meeting with the Steering Committee for the Library Landscape Assessment on 19th March 2015 at British Council. Representatives from the Ministry of ICT, Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Access to Information (A2i) Program at the Prime Minister’s Office, BRAC, Bengal Foundation and the British Council Bangladesh were present at the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Barbara Wickham, Country Director, and Matt Pusey, Deputy Director of the British Council in Bangladesh. A vision of library in Bangladesh was shared by Tomas Doherty of British Council and Mr. Syeed Ahamed, CEO, IID presented the initial findings from the field research of Library Landscape Assessment in Bangladesh. The portal developed by IID under this LIS study www.obhimat.com/lis was also shared with the steering committee members and social media campaign progress was also presented in the meeting.
