Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu has promised that the government will scrutinize the ICT Act 2006 and its recent amendments to see if it somehow undermines people’s fundamental rights. In response to a question raised by IID’s CEO Syeed Ahamed, the Minister explained the amendments and made that promise on 30 September 2013 at a round table of RTI Forum. He also made similar promise on 28th September 2013 in response to a similar critique by Mr. Ahamed at another seminar organised by the Information Commission.
