The unavailability of real time data leads the national policy makers to take perception based policy decisions, speakers stated while emphasizing on the need for ‘real time monitoring’ at a roundtable workshop on “Real-Time Monitoring for the Most Vulnerable” held on 14th May 2012. The Policy and Strategy Division of UNICEF (NY) partnered with Institute of Development Studies (IDS) for conducting the study and IID worked as the local organizer for the study and the workshop. ICHD and IDS were knowledge partners in this initiative. The focus was on real-time monitoring particularly in the areas of pre-school and early childhood development in Bangladesh. Experiences from other sector’s representatives were also shared in the workshop.
