About the logo
A single yellow dot changes the character of the whole mark. It expresses a belief at the heart of IID: society grows stronger when different voices have a place in it.

The yellow dot
Within the surrounding arc, the yellow dot stands for the freedom to think differently and the right to belong. Its distinct colour gives that principle a visible presence. Every voice deserves to be heard, including the one that asks a new question or challenges a familiar assumption.

Information and inclusion
At the centre, the two “i” forms resemble people standing side by side. They bring information and inclusion together: the ability to understand, and the opportunity to participate.

Democracy
The “d” stands for democracy, sustained through dialogue, shared decisions and respect for difference.

Community
The dots gather these individual voices into a wider community. Their varied sizes suggest the diversity of people and experiences that shape our common life.
Deep teal
Colour
Deep teal connects the green of grass with the blue of sky: our responsibility to remain grounded in people’s realities, and our ambition to expand what is possible.

Logo specification
The IID identity has two parts: the logo, made up of the i, the d and the dots, and the brand name, Institute for Informed Development. The two are always used together.

Using the logo
Each IID project is required to follow a branding guideline. For printing, publishing, web content and online presence, the whole identity must be used.
